RDBMail Mail Worksheet Template Information

Important message to visitors of this page

Ron de Bruin decided to remove all Windows Excel content from his website for personal reasons. If you want to know why, head over to rondebruin.nl.

Luckily, Ron was kind enough to allow me to publish all of his Excel content here.

Most of these pages are slightly outdated and may contain links that don 't work. Please inform me if you find such an error and I'll try to fix it.

Kind regards

Jan Karel Pieterse

Below you can find information about the Insert Worksheet Template option in the RDBMail add-in for Excel/Outlook 2007-2016. You can find information how to install the add-in and you can download it on this page : https://jkp-ads.com/rdb/win/addins/rdbmail.htm

You have the option in this add-in to insert a template worksheet in your workbook to send one or many mails with one button click. All the information will be saved in this worksheet, it use one row to store the information for each mail that you want to create. Note: there is a template for creating WorkBooks and one for PDF’s.

For example, if you are a teacher and you have one sheet for each student in your workbook. You can send all your students their own worksheet with grades with one click of a button because you store all the information in the worksheet.

Click on one of the two buttons to insert a worksheet template in your workbook.
Important: If your workbook is a xlsx (Excel Workbook) you must save the file as xlsm or xlsb
after you add the worksheet template because it is not possible to save VBA code in a xlsx workbook.

In the RDBMailOutlook or RDBMailPDFOutlook worksheet there is a Table with the following fields.
You will use one row in the Table for each mail you want to create

Send: yes or no
Sheets: Enter the sheet names you want to mail separated with Alt Enter or enter "workbook"
if you want to send the whole workbook without the RDBMailOutlook worksheet.
File Name: Enter the prefix for the file name (date/time and extension will add automatic)
Values: Enter yes to convert formulas to values Not in RDBMailPDFOutlook worksheet
Objects: Enter yes to delete all objects Not in RDBMailPDFOutlook worksheet
To: Enter the mail addresses here separated with Alt Enter
CC: Enter the mail addresses here separated with Alt Enter
BCC: Enter the mail addresses here separated with Alt Enter
Subject: Enter the mail subject here
Attach other files: You can use a button to select the files you want to attach to the mail
Body text: Enter a short body text and separate every line with Alt Enter
Importance: Enter yes if you want to set Importance to high

Note: because it is a Table you can enter "yes" in column A on a new row and the new row will have a nice format and the data validation when you select a cell in the new row.

Read the Data validation tips closely when you select a cell in the "RDBMail(PDF)Outlook" worksheet.
Note: You can change cell C3 to "No" if you not want to preview the mails before sending.

What is Alt-Enter ?

You see that if you want to enter more then one sheet, mail address or body line you must separate each entry with Alt Enter so it will be on a new line in the Cell.

If you want to send for example three worksheets you do this

1: Select cell in Sheets column
2: If needed press the delete button to clear the cell first
3: Enter the first sheet name
4: Press Alt Enter
5: Enter the second sheet name
6: Press Alt Enter
7: Enter the third sheet name
8: Press Enter

Now you see each sheet name on its own line in the cell
